Jaaukanigás, es un humedal ubicado en el río Paraná medio, al noreste de la provincia de Santa Fe. Es un complejo de cursos de aguas, lagunas, estanques, pantanos de agua dulce permanentes y pastizales inundados estacionalmente con una importante biodiversidad. Fue declarado el 10/10/2001 sitio RAMSAR, el noveno en la Argentina, con la categoría de humedal de importancia Internacional.
La flora y fauna de Jaaukanigás está compuesta por unas 699 especies de vertebrados (algunos de ellos como el lobito del río, el oso mielero, el carpincho, el mono aullador o carayá y yacarés), 300 especies de aves entre los más destacados están el pato negro, el sirirí colorado, el sirirí cariblanco y el playerito pectoral. En cuanto a los peces existen más de 240 especies itícolas, entre ellas el pacú, el sábalo, el surubí, el dorado, el patí, por lo que es una zona que se presta para la pesca deportiva. Adventure Tourism in the province of Santa Fe
A new destination to discover, a province that combines history, culture and nature Jaaukanigás, is a wetland located in the middle Paraná River, northeast of the province
of Santa Fe. It is a complex of watercourses, lagoons, ponds, permanent freshwater swamps and seasonally flooded grasslands with important biodiversity. It was declared on 10/10/2001 a RAMSAR site, the ninth in Argentina, with the category of wetland of international importance.
The flora and fauna of Jaaukanigás is composed of some 699 species of vertebrates (some of them like the river wolf, the honey bear, the capybara, the howler monkey or carayá and alligators); 300 species of birds among the most outstanding are the black duck, the red sirirí, the white-faced sirirí and the pectoral sandpiper. As for fish, there are more than 240 species of fish, among them the pacú, the sábalo, the surubí, the dorado, the patí, which is why it is an area that lends itself to sport fishing. As for the flora, some of the species that stand out are the red quebracho, the guayacán, the mistol, the palo cruz, the black carob tree, the ambay and the ingá.
